For GPs and referrers

Thank you for thinking of us for your patient. This page has everything you need to refer, and if anything is unclear, reception on 1300 0 AWARE will sort it quickly.

How to refer

Send your referral to reception@awarehub.com.au or via your usual secure messaging provider. Psychiatry referrals stay valid for twelve months from first appointment, and indefinite referrals from a GP are accepted.

What helps us triage well

  • Presenting concerns and how long they have been running
  • Current medications and anything already tried, including doses and duration
  • Relevant medical history and recent pathology where it exists
  • Any risk information, stated plainly
  • Whether the referral is for assessment only or ongoing care
  • Funding context if known: DVA, WorkCover or iCare claim details, NDIS

Wait times

Wait times move with clinician availability, so we would rather you call than rely on a stale number on a website. Reception can tell you the current wait for each clinician and location, and urgent referrals are flagged to Dr Myers for triage.

TMS and esketamine referrals

Both treatments run in Bondi Junction and Bundaberg, with DVA and eligible WorkCover funding. Most approvals rest on treatment resistant depression, though TMS is also used in pain management, addictions, PTSD and OCD, so send it through if you are unsure and we will assess suitability. The esketamine referral form above covers the required screening. For TMS, a standard psychiatry referral is the starting point and our team handles the rest, including the paperwork for funded clients. Questions can go to tms@awarehub.com.au.

AwareHub is not a crisis service. If you or someone you care about is in immediate danger, call 000. For urgent support, Lifeline is on 13 11 14 and the NSW Mental Health Line is on 1800 011 511, both around the clock.
