Fees and funding

Nobody enjoys surprise invoices, least of all when they are already having a hard time. Here is how fees work, in plain English. For exact fees for a specific clinician, emailreception@awarehub.com.au and reception will send them through.

Working through fees and funding at AwareHub

The basics

Our professional fees are set in line with current AMA and APS rates. Fees are paid on the day of your appointment by credit or debit card, and Medicare rebates are processed by us on the spot, so the rebate is usually back in your account within a day or two.

Medicare rebates

Psychiatry rebates need a GP referral, no Mental Health Care Plan required. Psychology rebates need a Mental Health Care Plan or specialist referral, which covers six sessions initially and up to ten per year with a GP review. Make sure your bank details are registered with Medicare, and clients 14 and over need their own Medicare account registration.

Funding we work with

Medicare

Rebates are facilitated by AwareHub for eligible appointments. Psychiatry needs a GP referral; psychology rebates need a Mental Health Care Plan.

DVA

AwareHub provides treatment for DVA clients, including fully funded TMS and S ketamine for eligible veterans.

WorkCover and iCare

iCare clients are billed directly. Other workers compensation clients pay on the day and are provided an invoice to claim reimbursement.

NDIS

Self managed NDIS participants pay on the day and receive an invoice to claim. Contact reception to talk through your plan.

Cancellations

Appointments hold significant time for you, so we ask for at least two business days notice if you need to move or cancel. Late cancellations and missed appointments attract a fee that Medicare cannot rebate, and repeated no shows may mean prepayment for future bookings. If something genuinely unavoidable happens, talk to reception, they are human about it.

AwareHub is not a crisis service. If you or someone you care about is in immediate danger, call 000. For urgent support, Lifeline is on 13 11 14 and the NSW Mental Health Line is on 1800 011 511, both around the clock.
